We will delve into the Fuegian routes, traveling through glacial valleys and native forests until discovering Puerto Almanza, a small fishing village at the confines of the continent. On this evening excursion, human intervention almost disappears beyond the settlement. We will wind along the coastal route, discovering the pristine shores of the Beagle Channel until reaching Punta Paraná. There, a cozy cabin hidden in the forest will be the perfect setting to enjoy a menu designed with local products, allowing us to experience the authenticity and tranquility of this unique adventure in Tierra del Fuego.

Our excursion begins departing from Ushuaia, traversing the imposing Tierra Mayor Valley until reaching Route "J", a secondary road that winds alongside the Lasifashaj River. The path makes its way through centuries-old forests until reaching Victoria Lagoon.

Already bordering the vasta coast of the Beagle Channel, Route "K" will lead us to Puerto Almanza, where a few families of artisanal fishermen catch king crabs, salmon, and other fresh seafood from the Channel to offer in their small and authentic restaurants.

Leaving the fishing village behind, we will continue bordering the Beagle Channel towards Punta Paraná, a subtle geographical landmark characterized by its purity and scarce population. There, we will find a fascinating organic farm that operates on lands recovered from old beaver dams. We will be able to see how the land is worked in these extreme conditions and taste the sweets, jams, and liqueurs produced there.

After a simple hike to a striking panoramic viewpoint, we will take a small hidden path leading to a cozy cabin nestled in an ancient Coihue forest. After lighting the fireplace with wood from the surroundings, we will enjoy an exclusive dinner prepared with local products, surrounded by an overwhelming serenity only interrupted by the crackling of the fire.

Essential Clothing: The "Onion Layer" Method

To ensure comfort during outdoor activities, layered clothing is crucial. The "onion layer" system allows you to adapt your outfit to changing weather conditions and your physical activity level.

  • Layers: Dress in several thin layers that can easily be added or removed to regulate body temperature against wind or sun.
  • Footwear: This is the most important item. We recommend waterproof footwear or boots offering robust protection, ideal for traversing wet, muddy, or snowy terrains.
  • Jacket: A waterproof or water-resistant jacket is essential to effectively protect against rain and wind.

Recommended Clothing:

  • Thermal base layers: shirt and leggings (especially for those who particularly feel the cold).
  • Waterproof trekking boots: for walking on wet or muddy terrain.
  • Fleece or microfleece jacket/sweater.
  • Rain jacket / windbreaker: Ideal: Gore-Tex or softshell.
  • Warm beanie and buff.
  • Gloves.
