We will discover the park from a completely different perspective, combining the serenity of walking along uncrowded trails with the excitement of paddling in our inflatable canoes. We will reach corners of the National Park that few people know, living the authentic experience of exploring its nature by paddling through rivers and bays, just as its original inhabitants did thousands of years ago. Between both activities, we will enjoy a well-deserved lunch with drinks, recovering energy in a privileged natural setting.

Our adventure begins with a short 10-km transfer from Ushuaia to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, where we will explore its most iconic attractions.

We will begin the exploration on foot, in direct contact with the lush nature. We will walk along low to medium difficulty trails, designed to be enjoyed by those accustomed to physical activity and equipped with the appropriate clothing.

On the banks of the Lapataia River, a well-deserved lunch awaits us inside a heated dome. Here, protected from the wind and rain, we will enjoy an exceptional panoramic view while we regain our energy.

After lunch, the adventure continues on the water. We will equip ourselves with rubber boots, over-trousers, and life vests to embark on inflatable canoes. For approximately one hour, we will paddle through the serene fresh waters of the Lapataia and Ovando rivers until we reach the vast Lapataia Bay, where National Route 3, the famous Pan-American Highway, finds its southern end.

Essential Clothing: The "Onion" Method

To ensure comfort during outdoor activities, dressing in layers is crucial. The "onion" system allows you to adapt your clothes to changing weather conditions and your level of physical activity.

  • Layers: Wear several thin layers that can be easily put on or taken off to regulate your body temperature in response to wind or sun.
  • Footwear: This is the most important item. We recommend waterproof footwear that offers robust protection, ideal for walking on wet, muddy, or snowy terrain.
  • Jacket: Essential a waterproof or water-resistant jacket will effectively protect you from rain and wind.

During the canoeing activity, we will provide you with the necessary equipment. You can bring cameras and cell phones during the paddle. However, for comfort and the safety of your devices, we suggest opting for compact cameras or cell phones that can be easily stored in case of rain. The use of large photographic equipment is not recommended.

Recommended Clothing:

  • Thermal undergarments (shirt and leggings for those who are particularly sensitive to the cold).
  • Comfortable long pants for trekking.
  • Waterproof trekking boots for walking on mountainous terrain.
  • A fleece or microfleece jacket/sweatshirt.
  • A rain/windproof jacket. Ideal: Gore-tex or softshell.
